I felt really cramped in the room; it had this claustrophobic vibe. Plus, the private courtyard wasn't private at all-families kept popping up and taking photos right in front of our space, making it awkward to relax.

No complains at all, very pleasant stay for two nights. Tidy place with extremely helpful and very amiable staff and great view of the lake and trees. Central location, within easy walking distance of a Meerea Park winery. Found in a very very nice area just off Roche Estate, and cafes in the heart of the hunter.

Mercure is well-situated for accessing the vineyards, making it an ideal choice for business-related visits. The King Studio room offered great comfort with a comfortable bed and a recently renovated bathroom. The hotel features a pool and a highly rated restaurant, providing a pleasant setting for relaxation after work. The pricing midweek can be very reasonable, especially at $135 per night. ,

Some furnishings are outdated and not up to date in the room.

Room was excellent, large and well equipped. Very close 6 wineries, within walking distance. Plenty of eating choices but most only by driving to. The nearby Hunter Valley gardens were very impressive. The hotel gave a discount to guests to visit the gardens.

    responsive staff

This was just a well-suited match for a transient visit in Pokolbin with value for money. The staff was responsive, quickly delivering a microwave and toaster that we requested upon arrival. Remember to call ahead for dinner reservations as the restaurant fills up fast.

Quiet and well located in centre of wineries of Hunter Valley.

I was disappointed with the state of the common areas... More cleaning required (walkways dirty and litter around). Also the dining room floor was dirty every morning. What does it take to run the vacuum cleaner over the floor at the end of the day...? Also staff were not very friendly...all typically Australian...!

The location of the hotel was ideal for my trip, making it easy to explore this beautiful spot. I was pleasantly surprised by the Elements Restaurant and Bar, which offered French-inspired cuisine made with local produce. The menu was thoughtfully paired with Hunter Valley wines, allowing me to fully appreciate the unique flavors of the region.

For $320 a night, I expected a touch of luxury but felt instead that I was at home, needing to manage housekeeping myself. The balcony was uninviting, and the shower shelves had a moldy appearance.

    The location in the vineyards.

We arrived at 2:45pm and our room was not ready. That was fine as we left to visit friends and returned around 5:30pm. We were given tag for our room 102 only to find when we opened the door that the room was already occupied. We returned to reception for another room to find we would be upgraded to 801 but again had to wait for the room to be serviced. A complemently drink was given while we waited. The room was ready some 15minutes later and a complementry breakfast card was given for the inconvenience. The upgraded room was lovely however the globe in the bedlight had failed and the double power point under microwave the right one was faulty. It failed to work. The shower had mildew at base. Breakfast was spoilt by the large plates not being heated to maintain warmth to the hot food. Consequently our meal was cold before we had finished. Tarrif $269 for basic room was too high.

    gorgeous gardens
    friendly staff
    slow breakfast service

Hunter Valley vibes with lovely staff 🌿🍷

The layout is lekker and the decor was quite fine. The staff were so friendly and helpful, like that chommie at reception, you know? The grounds are just gorgeous, perfect for a stroll or a dop at the bar with a view!

Had a bit of a wait for brekkie, could have been a bit smoother, but nothing too drastic.

    spacious bathroom
    comfortable room
    inconsistent cleanliness

Large bathroom with a spacious spa bath with a skylight and a walk-in shower, solid room size with decent furnishings including a comfortable king-sized bed and a lounge area.

Amenities are light. No complimentary water was offered. Cleaning standards were inconsistent, with reports of unclean bathrooms in some rooms and maintenance issues like a broken cupboard door.
